History
| The Kunsthalle Luzern is more than an exhibition space in the middle of the city: It stands for vivid, contemporary art practice and builds on active connecting as well as an atmosphere of hospitality. The exhibition programme includes co-operations with other institutions or guest curators. Moreover, discussion forums and accompanying events with versatile, varying focuses act as means to complement the exhibition. Thereby we gladly deploy the synergies within the Bourbaki - the building hosts the historical Bourbaki Panorama, the art house cinema Stattkino as well as the Bourbaki cinemas, the Café Bourbaki and the city’s library. The Kunsthalle Luzern encourages, presents and discusses contemporary art, which sheds a diversified light on our surroundings, our society and our daily routine. The art works shall leave the realm of the institution, expand into everyday life and invigorate the public space. |
The Kunsthalle Luzern offers a platform to artists from Lucerne and other cities and countries. The local art scene is meant to profit from the exchange activities provided by the Kunsthalle Luzern and establish long-term partnerships. The Kunsthalle Luzern is looking for a dialogue between different cultural institutions. Collaborations with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design & Arts, the visarte, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Engineering and Architecture as well as other cultural establishments are an essential part of our programme. We are glad about your interest in the activities of the Kunsthalle Luzern and are hoping for an animated exchange! |
